Rensselaer Equestrian Team Home
W elcome to the Equestrian Team at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute! The Equestrian Team is made up of a group of equine athletes at RPI. This club is a social organization, and we provide many activities for members to enjoy, such as volunteer activities, team dinners, and boot-polishing parties!. It is not maintained solely to give discounts on lessons, although that is one of the greatest aspects of it. The team rides hunter equitation and participates in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. Our members range from beginners to experienced riders, and everyone is welcome. A number of members also compete in horse shows sponsored by the IHSA. In addition, we also try to serve the community through equine related programs. One way in which we do this is to help out at a local horse rescue; feeding, grooming, and walking horses as well as general barn upkeep. For Information about the team email one of the officers ..

MORE ORIGINAL RESEARCH Bill Berkowitz February 21, 2008 Oral Roberts University under new management Enmeshed in scandal, the university founded by, and named for televangelist Oral Roberts, is bailed out by Hobby Lobby's Mart Green Before there was a Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Benny Hinn or Joel Osteen, Oral Roberts was televangelism. He, along with a few other pioneers brought the tent revival into the age of mass communications; Roberts was broadcast on numerous television stations across the country. He stalked the stage, raised his voice, and had the audience in the palm of his hands. He appeared to indicate that he had special powers; he could heal the sick, mend the wounded, comfort the afflicted. Oral Roberts had wealth, power, prestige and an all-American family. He amassed a fortune and later established a university in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which he named Oral Roberts University (ORU). Now, ORU needs some financial and spiritual healing. That's where Mart Green, a young multi-millionaire, comes in. Green, 46, recently gave ORU more than $60 million "of his family's fortune to rescue" the university, "the evangelical Christian school engulfed in a spending scandal [involving Oral Roberts' son Richard and his wife Lindsay] and burdened with tens of millions of dollars in debt," the Associated Press reported on February 5. CNN.com - Feds serve warrants at ITT Tech campuses - Feb. 26, 2004
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (AP) -- Federal agents Wednesday searched the headquarters of ITT Technical Institutes and its trade schools in eight states, preventing many students from attending classes while officers combed through buildings and questioned faculty. The Indianapolis-based chain of 77 trade schools said the investigation involved records of such things as student attendance, graduation and recruitment. Most ITT students receive federal financial aid. Rene R. Champagne, chairman and chief executive, said in a statement that the company was cooperating with investigators. "We have not been informed of any specific allegations or charges at this time," h U.S. Attorney Michael Shelby of Houston, whose office is leading the investigation, issued a statement saying "no conclusions should be drawn from today's activity." Shelby said law enforcement officers went to ITT campuses in Indiana, Texas, Virginia, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, California and Ore Law enforcement officers did not allow students, staff or faculty to enter about 10 of ITT's campuses. Classes elsewhere were unaffected, and ITT hoped to resume all classes Thursday, company spokeswoman Nancy Brown said. At the 1,300-student Indianapolis campus, federal postal inspectors searched buildings, and faculty and staff were questioned. "They've given us no idea specifically what they're looking for," said Brown, who was shut out of the company's headquarters in the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel. ITT operates in 30 states and has about 37,000 students. The schools offer associate's and bachelor's degrees in technology-related fields such as electronics, computer programming and telecommunications.

Any Category Amazon Upgrade Cooking, Food & Wine Desserts European French Hospitality, Travel & Tourism Japanese Professional Qualifying Textbooks Quantity Quick & Easy Reference Special Occasions U. S. Regional Editorial Reviews Amazon.com The chefs at the French Culinary Institute believe that people have switched to Italian cooking because they do not realize French food can be just as light, fresh, and health Jacques Pepin and his cohorts, Alain Sailhac, Jacques Torres, and Andre Soltner, are out to prove that French cooking really can be deliciously low in fat in The French Culinary Institute's Salute to Healthy Cooking . At the stove, Pepin and company offer 40 low-fat menus, all luscious three-course meals made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Dishes are prepared using familiar classic French techniques like poaching, braising, and roasting. First courses range from a light Watercress, Chicory and Radish in Beet Vinaigrette salad to elegant Leek and Roasted Pepper Tartlets. Main courses feature meat, poultry, or seafood. Desserts are for the most part fruit-based, although chocolate gets its due in a soufflé and a rich flourless torte. Few people will make the entire menu for a week-night dinner, but even a singular dish, like salmon cooked in its own juice with broccoli florets, would be fine served with your own green salad and fruit for dessert. Even when you bring home roast chicken or plain grilled fish, adding the earthy Mushroom Sauce or zesty Tomato Vinaigrette will add immeasurably to your meal. --Dana Jacobi --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
