The answer is that, more than ever, attending college provides opportunities for graduates which are not as widespread to those who have not received a higher education. For many high school students, being able to immediately generate an income after graduation is an appealing thought. They may also be repelled by the rising cost of tuition, and while it is true that a higher education may be one of the largest expenses you will ever face, the importance of a college education has become quite evident in terms of earning potential within today's economy. Why Should You go to College? One important answer to this question is more opportunity. As opposed to generations of the past, high school graduates today are unable to obtain the number of high-paying jobs that were once available. The U.S. has been transformed from a manufacturing-based economy to an economy based on knowledge, and the importance of a college education today can be compared to that of a high school education forty ye It serves as the gateway to better options and more opportunity. The Ohio Higher Educational Facility Commission was created for the purpose of assisting independent, not-for-profit institutions of higher education finance the construction, renovation or rehabilitation of educational facilities through tax exempt bonds. McCoy Hall, Marietta College, 2001 With the assistance of an OHEFC bond issue, Marietta College constructed a new residence hall, McCoy Hall, which opened in the fall of 2001. From 1968 through 2006, the Commission has authorized over 180 bond issues to assist the financing of hundreds of projects across 47 campuses in Ohio.

In 9 sessions, participants learn easy-to-implement budgeting techniques, understand how to make good purchasing decisions, and develop a personal savings plan that works. As part of the Make Your Money Talk program, WWBIC offers a special matched-savings program called Individual Development Accounts (IDA). In order to open an IDA, participants must meet income eligibility guidelines and successfully complete the Make Your Money Talk classes. Through the IDA savings account, every dollar saved is matched by WWBIC 2 to 1. In other words, if you save $2000 over two years, your account value will actually be $6000.
