Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development Enterprise Zone Application Submission System now available The Enterprise Zone Application Submission System is now available. All Virginia Enterprise Zone (VEZ) grant and tax credit forms are posted on the system, in addition to instruction manuals for each incentive. Online submission is required for the 2007 incentive qualification cycle, in addition to submitting hard copies of the required incentive material by the application deadline. VEZ program >> URL Enterprise Zone Application Submission System >> URL New Web site provides information on community living choice for seniors and people with disabilities Virginia is one of 31 states participating in the five-year, $1.75 billion Money Follows the Person (MFP) project designed to create a system of long-term service and support for individuals transitioning from certain long-term care institutions into the community. The MFP project supports Virginia’s Olmstead initiative and complements the efforts of the Systems Transformation Grant that aims to improve the infrastructure for community-based long-term supports. Virginia’s MFP project , administered by the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services , will make more than $28 million in federal Medicaid funds available to support Virginia’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. MFP project Web site >> URL Seed capacity building program How to Apply workshops announced The Office of Community Capacity Building (OCCB) has announced the availability of $200,000 in SEED capacity building funding for fiscal year 2008. SEED funds are devoted for providing capacity building for organizations to become effective partners in providing safe, decent, and affordable housing; expanding economic development opportunities; and creating a suitable living environment in non-entitlement communities. Eligible organizations must undertake community development projects in non-entitlement communities.

S. Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Georgia Department of Education are joining forces to reduce injuries and illnesses among Georgia’s youth worker An alliance signing ceremony will be held Monday, June 19, at OSHA’s Tucker area office. Participating organizations include: the Georgia Tech Consultation Program, Georgia Tech OSHA Training Institute Education Center, Construction Education Foundation of Georgia, American Industrial Hygiene Association-Georgia section, and the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. "The mission of this alliance will be to provide career technology educators throughout the state with resources necessary to offer effective safety and health training to their students," said G. T Breezley, OSHA's Atlanta-East area director.
