Over 190 scholarships awarded in 2007 Southwestern Illinois College Foundation awarded over 190 scholarships in 2007. There were more than 900 applicants. One of the recipients wrote the following: "I believe without this scholarship, I would not have the motivation to be the best nurse I can be. It tells me that someone believes that I can do it and succeed in life. It makes me proud to know that people do care about other people and all in all makes me want to pass on that same kind of hope when I work as a nurse." Because tuition and state funding do not cover the cost of an education, it becomes important to rely on the many donors who make annual gifts in support of students. From supporting scholarships, to state of the art classroom equipment and library resources, SWIC donors are among the most supportive in the state of Illinois. As a student, Abby already recognizes the importance that private gifts have on her education. Last fall you honored your connection with SWIC by making a gift to support our students like Abby.
